Biography

Kristen Monday was an elementary art teacher for 15 years in an increasingly urban area serving students from very diverse backgrounds. Her school had a high poverty rate, many Non-English speakers, a large number of students with special needs (moderate and severe), as well as a self contained Emotional & Behavioral disabilities class. 
 
She holds a Master's Degree in Art Education as well as Curriculum
Instruction. Currently she is teaching at the University of Wisconsin~
Whitewater in the College of Education & Professional Studies.

Her specific areas of interest and expertise are Art Therapy,Visual Literacy, the dynamics of poverty in schools, the inclusion of students with special needs, and integrating Art Education throughout the Core curriculum.

She Started her business, "Creative Energy Art" in 2010 when her friends asked her to give art lessons to their kids. the word spread and soon other children followed. The birthday parties and corks & canvas painting parties grew the business and it is still growing.
